I had prostate surgery and my bladder leaks, consequently I haven't been able to use them because I have to wear pads. When I'm continent again, I'll try wearing them. I did try them on, they felt comfortable, but I can't put the leak pads in them.

As someone who teaches sewing for a living, I spend a lot of time thinking about fit, structure, and what happens when fabric, gravity, and anatomy negotiate their complicated little treaties. So, when it comes to my own underwear, I expect the same standards I demand from a couture garment: Support where it counts, zero wardrobe diplomacy, and enough ease built in that nothing feels compressed, discouraged, or denied its natural ambitions. Men need a little - shall we say - dimensional flexibility.
I don’t want to be smashed. I don’t want to dangle. I want everything supported in place with the quiet confidence of a couture bodice — intentional, sculpted, built with enough ease to accommodate life's little "ups and downs", and absolutely not begging for constant supervision.
I’ve tried more brands of underwear than I’ve tried buttonhole styles, and that’s saying something. I’m not a boxer guy, but these popped up in my search, and the plaid practically winked at me. (Plaid is one of my favorite colors — yes, colors.) I hesitated because the fabric is woven with no stretch, and usually that’s an invitation for tension in places where tension should never be the theme of the day. But curiosity tugged at my sleeve.
Fresh out of the wash, I slipped them on — and immediately noticed the fit and support. (The waistband at the back felt a little low at first, but I got used to it right away.) It felt like someone finally drafted a pattern with actual anatomy in mind. And not just anatomy as a static concept, but anatomy with… potential. Still, I’ve been wooed by promising underwear before, only to discover that the romance ends the moment you sit, bend, or attempt to live your life like a normal human being.
So, I put this style through a full month‑long trial. Teaching. Reaching. Bending. That inevitable “Why is this happening right now?!” moment. And they held up beautifully. No riding up, no shifting, no unexpected pleats forming where pleats should never form. And importantly, they strike that rare balance: Supportive enough to keep everything confidently in place, yet generous enough in the right areas that nothing feels restricted, stifled, or denied its natural... umm... enthusiasm.
They behaved better than some garments I’ve sewn myself — and I don’t say that lightly.
In fact, they performed so well that I cleared out most of my drawer to make room for more. When underwear earns a permanent spot in the rotation, that’s commitment… possibly even devotion.
If you want underwear that behaves like a well‑constructed garment with a bit of attitude — supportive, reliable, and accommodating — these are absolutely worth your time.
